First step: Create an ad campaign et select an objective Second step: Select the conversion location Third step: set up the ad format Fourth step: The testing link

First step: Create an ad campaign et select an objective

  • To do this, you just need to go to the Ad Manager and create a new campaign by clicking on the green button “Create” at the top left.
  • Then you will need to select a campaign objective: select between “Traffic”, “Engagement” or “Sales” at the bottom of the list.

Most of the Click to WhatsApp campaigns have “traffic” as their objective.

Second step: Select the conversion location

  1. After creating the campaign and selecting the objective, you can move to the next section “Ad set level”.
  2. You will need to select the conversion location:
  • If the selected objective was “Traffic”: select “WhatsApp”.
  • If the selected objective was “Interactions” or “Ventes”: first select “Messaging apps” then “WhatsApp”.

Then you can enter the campaign budget, starting and ending dates, audience and placements as needed.

Third step: set up the ad format

After choosing the conversion location, dates, audience, and placements, go to the final section “Ads.”

In “Ad Setup” and “Ad Content,” you can fill in the parameters for the ad you want to promote (image, video, carousel, headline, CTA, etc.).

The default call-to-action is “Send Message” — it is recommended to keep this CTA.

It is not possible to customize the CTA wording; you must choose one from the dropdown list.

In “Message Template,” you will need to create a “Question/Answer” template.

In Meta’s terminology, the questions correspond to the pre-filled messages that users can send on WhatsApp to start the conversation. You don’t have to phrase it as a question — a simple sentence is perfectly fine.

After clicking “Edit,” you need to enter a greeting text. It is not necessary to fill in this text, as it will not appear at any point.

The important part is to configure the Questions/Answers section. The ad manager provides 3 default questions, but you can modify them, delete them, or add new ones by clicking “Edit.”

Only one question is necessary; there’s no need to have more. You can delete the extra questions and keep just one. The automatic answer is optional and, in any case, not required, because the Simio flow will handle the responses.

Here are a few examples of questions:

“Send this message to register”

“Send this message to join our VIP club on WhatsApp”

“I want to be part of the club”

The question you have set up must be included in your Chatbot, which should start when users click on your ad.

❗️If you modify your question, you will also need to update your Chatbot.

Fourth step: The testing link

Once the setup is complete, you can generate a preview link for the ad to test the entire flow and ensure that the Chatbot starts correctly from the ad.

To do this, stay in the ad setup section. On the right, you’ll see an ad preview, and just above it, there is a share button. Simply click this button and select Share a link. A window will appear — enable sharing, and an fb.me link will be generated. This is the link you need to share with us for testing.

Once you have retrieved this link, you can click on it and accept the sharing. You will be redirected to the Facebook homepage — scroll down a bit until the ad appears (it usually shows up in the second position). Click on the CTA, check that the scenario starts correctly, and perform all necessary tests.

If you have chosen mobile-only placements, after accepting the sharing, you will need to open the mobile app to view the ad.
